An updated message regarding the COVID-19 coronavirus

Johnson and Johnson Vaccine Update

On April 13, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a joint statement regarding adverse events including low platelet counts and blood clotting disorders related to the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. At this time, there have been six reported serious adverse events in approximately 7 million doses of the J&J vaccine that have been administered. All six cases occurred between 6 and 13 days following vaccination, and all cases occurred in women between the ages of 18 and 48 years.

At this time, there is no recommendation from either agency that individuals who received the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine should seek medical care or consult in the absence of severe headache, abdominal pain, leg pain, or shortness of breath within 3 weeks after receiving the vaccine. Individuals experiencing any of these symptoms are encouraged to reach out to their healthcare providers for further evaluation and care.

Dear Valued Patients,
As we find ourselves entering into our third calendar year of the COVID-19 pandemic, we do so with the knowledge and tools to continue with our lives in a safe manner.

While the short but furious impact of the Omicron variant continues to wane in the state of Connecticut, we continue to practice sensible precautions for patient safety, congruent with guidance from the Connecticut Department of Public Health and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This includes continued application of universal masking for all staff and patients, increased cleaning schedules, and wide spread availability of hand sanitation products. All staff and patients continue to be subject to screening for illness or sick contacts and we continue deny admittance into our offices individuals who may be ill or had high-risk contact with COVID-19.

We continue to see patients in all of our locations as scheduled. Our accredited Vascular Ultrasound Laboratory and Angiography Suites remain open for the diagnosis and treatment of your vascular ailments in a convenient, safe outpatient setting.

At this time, we continue to limit the number of visitors allowed in our offices. We understand that some patients require assistance with travel and transportation, but ask that guests wait for you outside of our office with the exception of legal healthcare proxies.

Please contact us with any questions, 844-482-7285.
